Big Fat Pig!

Since I don't have much to show this week, I thought you might like to see what my daughter has been making at college. She brought it home yesterday....it's BIG! It's a money box, and made with papier mache over a balloon and has taken her about six weeks I think. I'm quite impressed actually - I'm well aware of how difficult any activity involving fine motor skills can be for her and this is very nicely made. My only problem is, if we fill it full of pennies the only way to get them out is to disembowel the pig....will I have the heart to destroy all her hard work?

It is superb! I could not bear to cut it open..though if you just cut a small hole in the bottom of the feet to shake the pennies out, you could easily patch it up again!

That is the cutest Pig ever!!
Love her orange color. Don't destroy her, just get a skinny saw of some sort and cut a small opening. Maybe a drill and drill a circle opening.

That is so sweet and cute. Love the colours and all the details. Stacie did a fab job. I'd not have the heart to disembowel it.....

No.... no.... this is not a hungry piggy... he looks far to happy. Think you should leave him looking beautiful.
OR you could fill him with sand. Bung up the penny putting in bit and use him as a door stop. Or better still leave him somewhere you can see his smile on a bad day
LEAVE THE HAPPY PIGGY ALONE !

Fabulous pig Stacie, I love the colour! When it's full of coins and you want to empty it, you can just cut a small hole with a stanley knife and then glue it back together again. If you want to use again as a money box, might be best to perhaps slice the end of nose off to empty. Then the structure wont weaken when filled for a second time (which it might if you cut through at the bottom) Also, a slice right at the end of the nose would be easily repaired and not noticable. Just an idea.
Penny.
